To build a future where there are no births of children with Thalassemia Major
What we do
About us
LifeBlood Council is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the causes of voluntary blood donation and the prevention, care and cure of Thalassemia.
The Council aims to build a future where blood and its components will be always available to those in need of blood transfusions; to provide care and support for persons with Thalassemia Major; and, ultimately, to build a future where there are no births of children with Thalassemia Major.
Towards this, the Council has been building a comprehensive ecosystem which includes Government authorities, NGOs, the medical fraternity and society at large and initiating best practices and programs to help the needy.

- To build a strong infrastructure and allocate resources for the care of individuals with Thalassemia Major by creating new day care centres and strengthening existing ones
- To implement programs for the prevention of Thalassemia Major and assist in building a robust registry of stem cell donors
